This particular selection from Paul is going to be read in a shorter form for the 12th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Go to the article here.
The Gospel selection is from Matthew 5:33–37 and is about swearing oaths. The parallel from Paul is 2 Corinthians 1:17–18 which was read in the liturgy some days ago.
33Again you have heard that it was said to them of old, Thou shalt not forswear thyself: but thou shalt perform thy oaths to the Lord.
17Whereas then I was thus minded, did I use lightness? Or, the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that there should be with me, It is, and It is not?
